Trade fair name tags

Our next project for EFEN was personalised logo name tags for the Energetab trade fair. A card with any name can be slid into the name tags, so the client can also use them at future industry events.

The name tags were attached with a strong neodymium magnet.

The white raised logo was made with UV print directly on the blue 3D base. The name card slides in from the side through a 1 mm slot, so it’s easy to replace.

Case study

A name tag with an interchangeable name – how did we do it?

  1. Challenge

A trade fair name tag that lasts longer

The name tags were made for the Energetab trade fair. A classic name tag with a printed name is single-use – after the event you’re left with a box of badges, each matching one specific person and one specific event.

On top of that, there was a requirement related to clothing – the name tag was to go on company jackets and sweatshirts that couldn’t be pierced with a pin.

  2. Solution

A window for an interchangeable card and a magnet instead of a pin

In the body of the name tag we left a window for a name card, which slides in from the side through a 1 mm slot. So the name is interchangeable and the name tag itself reusable – the same piece will serve the next industry event once the card is swapped.

We placed the EFEN logo on a “tab” extending below the frame, so the logo doesn’t take up space meant for the name or compete with it for attention. The attachment was a strong neodymium magnet on the back, holding the name tag even through thick fabric without piercing the material.

  3. Result

One set instead of a new set for every trade fair

The client doesn’t have to order name tags before every event – they print new cards and keep the badges. This turns the name tag from a single-use gadget into permanent equipment for the trade fair team.

The magnet solves a problem that is very real with company clothing: the jacket comes back from the fair without a trace of the attachment.
