Can the promotional products industry make its mark in the Guinness World Records?

511 brands, one world record. How the promotional products industry broke a Guinness World Record at PSI 2026 in Düsseldorf.

Can the promotional products industry make its mark in the Guinness World Records?

We usually think about Guinness World Records in terms of individual achievements that prove extraordinary talents and skills. This time, it was different. The challenge was a team effort, and its success depended on the whole industry working together.

What was the challenge?

Bring together as many branded products as possible in one place and break a Guinness World Record. Sounds simple? In practice, it took the cooperation of hundreds of companies from all over the world.

At PSI 2026 in Düsseldorf, a special installation was built: a table in the shape of the PSI logo, where every company could present one promotional product representing its brand.

The goal was to break the record in the category: “Most varieties of brands in a promotional merchandise display”.

The previous record stood at 250 brands.

With every day of the fair, the table filled up more and more – manufacturers, distributors and advertising agencies added their products, creating a shared display of the whole industry.

This year’s PSI was a special one – after 60 years, the fair was held in Düsseldorf for the last time. Instead of a symbolic farewell, the industry chose to act together. The idea of breaking the record was developed together with the EAC, an organisation that brings together promotional products companies across Europe.

We joined the initiative too – twice over. For dothat, it was our first trade fair abroad: at PSI 2026 we made our debut in front of the international promotional industry. As Eblis B&L – the company behind the dothat brand – we contributed our own R-PET promotional bag with double handles, and as the dothat brand and manufacturer we presented personalised lace charms.

Was the goal achieved?

On the second day of the fair, the counter passed 317 brands, which meant the record had been broken. But that wasn’t the end – the new goal was to reach the highest possible result.

The finale came on the last day of the fair during the “Come Together” event, when the official count took place. The final result?

511 brands – more than twice the previous record!

The Guinness World Records™ certificate was presented to the organisers, and the result was announced live.

This initiative showed one thing very clearly: the promotional products industry is a community that can act together when the goal is shared. And sometimes all it takes is one idea, one table and hundreds of brands to make history.
